Context: September 18 marked a one-year deadline set by the UN General Assembly (UNGA) for Israel to comply with the World Court and the UN Resolution A/ES-10/L.31– or face consequences. The UN began its 80th session on Sep 8, 2025 and could vote on the Uniting for Peace (UfP) Resolution starting Sept 18 until the end of the month. Action: Send 1 of 3 letters everyday to build the pressure and let the UN know where we, the citizens of the 193 member states stand, and what our demands are. Let’s make sure UN passes the UfP Resolution with solid measures that have real teeth to END the Genocide. The UfP only needs ⅔ favorable votes from those who vote in order to pass. Let’s do our duty and press our governments / UN Reps who have supported Palestine in the past, to hold the line for Palestine.

My Dear Representative of United Nations,

I and my fellow citizens are calling on you and your fellow UN representatives who already support Palestine by a supermajority, to hold the line for Palestine in an upcoming vote to enact concrete and binding measures to compel Israel’s compliance with the International Court of Justice. We  reject the French-Saudi plan and demand you support the Colombia’s proposal to authorize a Multinational Protection Force for Gaza via the Uniting for Peace Resolution, which is the only veto-proof measure that can be passed if ⅔ of  UN General Assembly members vote yes without including those who abstain.

We urge you to call for such a measure as it can NOT be overridden by a Security Council veto, and which has been previously used by some member states of the UN, to achieve their goals: Resolution 377 (V) Uniting For Peace, adopted on 3 November 1950, designed to empower the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) to act when the Security Council is paralyzed by lack of unanimity among permanent members. Member states need not surrender in the face of a Security Council veto. The UNGA is empowered to act in such circumstances, and there are clear precedents (e.g., the 1956 UNGA mandating of the UN Emergency Force in the Sinai).

We are sure you are aware that any member country can call for an ESS. In light of this, we respectfully request not to wait for others as millions of lives depend on this measure.  We ask that you immediately call for an Emergency Special Session (ESS) of the General Assembly under the Uniting for Peace Resolution, with a draft text that includes the following measures:

I. Authorizing immediate Humanitarian Aid and Protection for Palestinians: 
Supporting the UN’s immediate unrestricted entry and distribution of humanitarian aid, including efforts from civil society to break the siege by sea under the Global Sumud Flotilla Coalition
Safeguarding Palestinian civilians from further violence, displacement and acts of genocide and safeguarding the Global Sumud Flotilla (already attacked twice)
Preserving and securing evidence of potential war crimes and human rights violations
Facilitating the recovery and reconstruction of Gaza’s civilian infrastructure
Authorizing a UN-Mandated Multinational Protective Force to Gaza, equipped for self-defense and advanced monitoring technologies. Its mandate will include the above measures.

II. Authorizing additional concrete measures:  
Mandate an immediate, lasting ceasefire, require Israel to withdraw all armed forces from Gaza, and halt all attacks by air, land, and sea
Cease all trade, investment, economic, diplomatic, and cultural relations with the Israeli government
Impose comprehensive sanctions and military embargo
Strip Israel’s General Assembly credentials
Reactivate UN’s long-dormant anti-apartheid mechanism 
Reaffirm the right of the Palestinian people to use all necessary means to resist colonial domination and foreign occupation, including through armed struggle in accordance with international law
A UN mandated force to immediately protect all vessels that are part of the Global Sumud Flotilla as Israel already attacked its main vessel on Sep 8 which was carrying the members of its Steering Committee, deliver humanitarian aid, protect civilians, preserve evidence of war crimes, and facilitate reconstruction;
Establish a war crimes tribunal

We urge you to act without delay to call for the ESS of the General Assembly as soon as possible. With your call for the ESS for the implementation of the Uniting for Peace Resolution the concrete process enshrined in the United Nations would begin, not only to call on all General Assembly members to vote on this resolution, but also it begins the process of all member countries to assess what capabilities they can offer for the deployment of a UN mandated multinational armed protective force into Gaza immediately.

We will match your actions with global noise and support from the streets. Do the right thing and the world will support your call and stand with you.

Considering the Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC) has now also confirmed the famine in Palestine and declared it at its worst stage, the requested above actions are critical. More so now that a proposal for the death penalty to the Palestinians being held in Israeli prisons is advancing to be the law in Israel. The world is watching. The people are waiting. The time is NOW.
